The district sent a note home to parents on Monday to announce that an early release day that had been planned for Thursday would be switched to Friday. Students will be dismissed at 12:55 p.m.

Superintendent Bernard DuBray referenced a previous protest by Westboro at East High School in 2012. ” . . . The event was very peaceful with only a handful of protestors standing across the street from East High’s entrance. ¬†There is no reason to expect anything else will occur in this instance.”

DuBray also said that the O’Fallon Police Department planned an increased presence on campus during the picket, which is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
