DWI Suspected in Crash that Injured Two from O’Fallon

A male and a female from O’Fallon were injured in a one-car crash on Highway 79 early Wednesday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jasen B. Teel, 29, of O’Fallon, was driving northbound on Highway 79 north of Salt River Road at about 2:10 a.m. when he ran off the road.

The 2008 Mazda 3 he was driving struck a concrete traffic barrier, re-entered the roadway, skidded, and struck an embankment.

Teel, who was not wearing a safety belt, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to SSM St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis by ambulance.

A passenger, 27-year-old Janell M. Gagnon, also of O’Fallon, sustained minor injuries. She was also not wearing a safety belt. Gagnon was transported by ambulance to SSM St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis.

According to MSHP online reports, Teel was charged with DWI-prior offender later that morning.
