Art students in Mrs. Menier’s Artstravaganza classroom at Duello Elementary school learn about color, design and proportion–and now they will also learn what it is like to have their art professionally displayed in a public area.
Mrs. Menier’s students will be able to see their framed art displayed in the tower room at the Wentzville location of 6 North Café.
“We are thrilled that 6 North Café has given this opportunity to our students,” said Mrs. Menier. “The artwork will change monthly to give more students the opportunity to display their work.”
This is not the first time that 6 North Café has partnered with a local school. Ten years ago, at their first location in the 6 North Apartment building on Sarah Street, they partnered with the Culinary Art Department at the Clyde C. Miller Career Academy.
“Since we are a family business we are always looking for opportunities to be a part of the local communities,” said Maria Altrudo, one of the owners of 6 North Café. “When Mrs. Menier approached us about the student art display, we were thrilled to work with her.”
To celebrate the student’s art display, 6 North Café is hosting an “Opening Night” on Thursday, February 26 from 5 – 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
6 North Café is donating a portion of their sales that evening to the art department at Duello Elementary School. If you’d like to participate, go to this link and print off a fundraiser ticket to present when your order is placed.
6 North Café is in the new Wentzville Bluffs shopping center off Highway Z just south of Interstate 70.
