A suspect is at large after an attempt to stop a stolen car in Lake Saint Louis ended with a crash on Highway 364 near Mid Rivers Mall Drive.
Captain Chris Digiuseppi of the Lake Saint Louis Police Department said that officers tried to stop the stolen vehicle at 1:38 a.m. near Technology Drive and Lake Saint Louis Boulevard. The vehicle, with two subjects inside, did not yield to police and sped off. Police followed the vehicle.
Digiuseppi said that the police backed off when the suspect vehicle began accelerating. “We tried to follow at a safe distance, but we lost sight of him.”
The suspect vehicle crashed into a creek near Highway 364 and Mid Rivers Mall Drive, where one suspect was taken into custody by St. Charles County police. The driver fled the scene.
Through investigation, the driver was identified as Wendell Mosley, Jr., age 26. He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds. He has long black braided hair and was last seen wearing all black clothing.
