Wentzville’s Planning and Zoning Commission gave their approval earlier this week for a Big Tex Trailers sales lot at 2450 East Pitman Avenue.
Big Tex Trailers sells flatbed utility trailers, steel and aluminum stock trailers, goosenecks, dump beds, and tilt trailers. The company also offers trailer parts and accessories, and they service their own trailers.
The 17,500 square foot dealership will sit on 4.87 acres.
Plans are for the business to be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday.
The site plan and conditional use permit for outdoor storage and sales of utilities will now go to the board of aldermen for their approval.
City staff requested several changes to the site plan, including some changes to the fencing and the addition of eight trees to the landscaping. The city has also asked that any repair work occur inside the building, and that trailers be parked only on paved and striped areas of the lot.
