‘Bark at the Moon’ lets dogs and owners enjoy Broemmelsiek Park after dark

Dogs and people

Bring your pooch to the spacious 5-acre Off-Leash Dog Area at Broemmelsiek Park near Defiance/Wentzville from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, October 13, for the St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department’s newest canine event, “Bark at the Moon!”

At this nighttime event for dogs and families, the Parks Department is teaming up with experts from the County’s Division of Humane Services to educate families. Pet microchipping will be available for a small fee and participants can talk with fellow pet lovers over a cup of hot chocolate.

The program is $1 per family of up to 10 members. Pre-registration is suggested by calling the parks department at 636-949-7535 or visiting http://bit.ly/BarkAtTheMoon2018. Children under the age of 8 will be allowed in the dog park for this event but must be supervised by an adult.

Please note: Participants must have their dogs properly licensed and immunized before entering the dog park. Aggressive dogs and puppies under four months old are not permitted. And participants must “Scoop the Poop” by cleaning up after their dogs with black clean-up bags located at pet waste stations in the dog park.
