Enjoy live music, haunted hayrides, carnival rides, tasty food, games of chance, inflatables, refreshing spirits, and plenty of crafts at Assumption Parish’s annual Fall Festival on October 15 and 16.
This traditional church picnic features a traditional turkey and sausage dinner with all the trimmings and lots of fun for the entire family. All are welcome to attend this two-day celebration that serves as Assumption’s largest fundraiser of the year.
Hours are from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, October 15 and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 403 North Main Street in O’Fallon.
The church festivities kick-off at 1 p.m., on Saturday with carnival rides provided by Tinsley Amusement Company, a variety of games, a beer and wine garden for the adults, and haunted hayrides in the evening. Tasty pork steak dinners and pork kabobs will also be available for purchase later in the day.
The pork steak dinner costs $10 and is served with baked beans, potato salad, dinner roll, and soda. On Saturday afternoon, “Music by Manda” takes the stage from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and “El Scorcho” performs on Saturday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
On Sunday, the festivities resume at 11 a.m. with a traditional parish picnic atmosphere and live entertainment by “Shangri-La” from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Experience an old-fashioned tractor-pulled hayride through the church grounds or take a fun barrel train ride, play bingo, and a variety of children’s and adult games.
In addition, exhibitors will be selling crafts and unique items at the popular Country Store in the Parish Center. Funnel cakes, kettle corn, and sandwiches will be sold at picnic concessions stands, and church volunteers will be serving up their famous turkey and sausage dinner until 6 p.m. in the Parish Center. Carryout service is available for those who do not want to eat in the dining room. Adult dinners are $12 and children $6, four and under free.
