This week’s adoptable pet is Groot, a one-year-old short-haired male tabby. He can be seen at the Wentzville PetsMart and adopted through Heartland Humane Society.
Here’s what Heartland Humane Society has to say about Groot:
Groot was rescued when he was just a wee kitten; he was found as a stray with no other siblings or mom in sight. When I brought him home, I introduced him to a momma cat, Gamora, and her kitten, Rocket, and they both instantly took to him like he was long, lost family.
Groot is a handsome fella with beautiful tabby markings and big green-gold eyes. He is more timid and shy than Rocket and takes time to warm up to new people. Once he feels comfortable and builds trust with you, he will follow you around and rub up against your legs to let you know that he wants attention.
He enjoys petting and will cuddle up my lap for snuggle time. He also loves other kitties and is usually curled up with them napping or playing/wrestling with them. He would love to be adopted with his best buddy, Rocket, as they are very close and bonded. Since Groot is a bit more shy, he will need time to acclimate to a new home and get to know his new family. Older or no kids would be best, but he would love to have other kitty friends to play with.
Groot may adjust to a cat-friendly dog too with time and a proper introduction. Groot is neutered, current on vaccinations, negative for FeLV/FIV and microchipped; DOB 4/15/17 (tag 10616JB).
