4 from Wentzville Escape with Minor Injuries After Crash with Suspected Drunk Driver

A 26-year-old man from Champaign, Illinois faces drunk driving charges after hitting a car on Interstate 70, causing it to overturn.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Michael G. Peters was driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue westbound on I-70 west of Bryan Road at 12:25 a.m. Saturday morning when he struck the rear of a 2000 Dodge Durango driven by Rosalyn L. Roberts, 53, of Wentzville.

The Durango struck the median, returned the roadway, struck the median again, and overturned.

Roberts and four passengers including a 24-year-old female from Florida and a 24-year-old male, and two children from Wentzville all sustained minor injuries and were transported to SSM St. Joseph Hospital – Lake Saint Louis. All were wearing seat belts.

Peters, who was not injured, faces possible DWI charges. MSHP record indicate that he was placed on a 12-hour hold.
