Three O’Fallon residents were injured in three separate incidents on St. Charles County roadways Thursday evening, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
In the first incident, which occurred at 6:23 p.m. on Interstate 70 east of Highway 79, a trailer that was being towed by a pickup truck came loose and struck a concrete wall. Jeremy M. Potocki, 33, of O’Fallon, who was driving a 2010 Chevy Traverse, tried to avoid the trailer by changing lanes. The trailer struck a rear tire of Potocki’s Chevy.
Potocki sustained minor injuries and was transported to SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
In the second incident, which involved five vehicles, a tractor trailer changed lanes on westbound Interstate 64 east of Missouri Research Park. The tractor trailer struck a Kia Optima driven by a St. Peters man. Three cars slowed for the crash, but a Dodge pickup driven by a Florissant man struck a Ford Escape being driven by Jessica S. Clark, 38, of O’Fallon. A 2008 BMW driven by a Defiance woman then struck the Dodge.
Clark sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Progress West Hospital.
In the third incident, Derrick E. Baca, 34, of O’Fallon, was traveling too fast for road conditions on northbound Old Highway 79, went off the road and struck a drainage ditch. He sustained moderate injuries and was transported to SSM St. Joseph West Hospital.
