How long have you lived in O’Fallon? 36 years
If you are an incumbent, what have you done while in office that you feel provides the most benefit to the city of O’Fallon?
I was elected as Alderman/Councilman in 1999 and served until 2009 when I was elected Mayor. Under my leadership, the city achieved unprecedented growth with a new City Hall, new road and interstate exchanges and water/sewer system expansions that modernized the city. O’Fallon welcomed thousands of jobs to the region with growth in every business sector, changing O’Fallon from a bedroom community into a city with more than 1600 businesses and global connections.
I have the proven experience and leadership with a vision for the future of O’Fallon. I will continue to keep O’Fallon a great place to work, live, and play
What do you see as the single most important duty of a mayor?
The most important duty of the Mayor is to promote trust between the residents, the businesses, the City staff, and the Council through transparency. Residents and businesses must believe their Mayor is looking out for their best interest. The Mayor needs to work hard to win and maintain this trust.
Which of the following municipal issues–business growth, residential growth, infrastructure, tax reductions, historic preservation, parks and recreation opportunities, safety, downtown redevelopment–do you feel it is important to address over the next five years? (Candidates were allowed to add their own.)
